ALUMINUM GRANULES
TEARDROP SHAPE

SC-125 Aluminum Granules are typically used in epoxy casting resin systems to reduce shrinkage and enhance heat conductivity.
Generally, the most frequent use is with TC-1650 A/B and TC-1651 A/B hi-temperature aluminum powder filled epoxy casting system.

Note: Be sure to pre-mix resin and hardener prior to adding SC-125 Aluminum Granules. SC-125 also provides a cost reduction when
displacing resins in various casting applications.

Uniform sized aluminum granule Teardrop shape
Excellent product distribution and blending properties Density-average: 19 cu. in. per lb.

APPLICATION:

SC-125 will allow a wide latitude of loading for different types of usage. Generally, the most frequent use is for casting an epoxy tooling
backup, and the typical loading is 100 parts epoxy with 100 parts SC-125. Various tool configurations may require less SC-125 as the
100 to 100 mix may not flow well enough without use of vibration. Compression values at this loading level have been found to be close
to the same compression value of the epoxy used.

Product highlights
CAB-O-SIL fS-720 fumed silica is a medium surface area fumed silica which
has been surface treated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). This surface
treatment results in a hydrophobic silica with a very different performance
than untreated silica,
CAB-O-SILTS-720 fumed silica is characterized by
r High purity
t Aggregated structure
t Submicron particle size
o Low bulk density
r Hydrophobic surface chemistry
Key applications
CAB-O-SIL TS-720 fumed silica is used for rheology control in a wide variety of adhesives, composite and coatings
applications.
This product provides the following performance advantages in medium to high polarity systems:
r Thickeningefficiency
r Sag resistance or high film build
i Anti-settling of pigments and fillers
Mistron 554 is off-white, high purity, platy, fine talc that is primarily used in architectural and industrial primers,
where its platy nature improves barrier properties, corrosion resistance and stain blocking ability. Mistron 554 also is
used in topcoats to reduce hard settling, improve sag resistance and extend prime pigments.
Mistron 554 could also be used in plastics to increase stiffness, HDT, and dimensional stability of plastic compounds,
and in rubber to reduce viscosity, improve processing, and act as a parting/dusting agent.
Application details
HDK

N20 is applied as a thickening and thixotropic agent in many organic systems, e.g. in unsaturated polyesters,
coatings, printing inks, adhesives, cosmetics and others.
HDK

N20 is used as a reinforcing filler in elastomers, mainly silicone-elastomers.
HDK

N20 acts as a free flow additive in the production of technical powders.
HDK

N20 is not suitable for pharmaceuticals, food and feed.
A good dispersion of HDK

N20 is a must to assure optimum performance.
More detailed information about the application and processing ofHDK

N20 is available in our HDK-brochures and on the

Packaging and storage
Packaging
HDK

N20 is offered in following packaging:
pallet with paper bags: 10 kg bags
Big bags: 150 kg (big bags on pallets)
Silotruck: depending on size of truck, approx. 3.5 to 5 tons
Storage
The ‘Best use before end’ date of each batch is shown on the shipping label and the certificate of analysis.
HDK

N20 should be stored in the original packaging in dry storage areas. Storage beyond the date specified on the label
does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, the properties required for the
intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons. Due to the high surface area HDK

adsorbs volatiles and
should be protected from humidity and volatiles. If single bags are taken away from an original pallet, the remaining bags of
this pallet must again be protected against humidity and volatiles.
Safety notes
Comprehensive instructions are given in the corresponding Material Safety Data Sheets. They are available on request from
WACKER subsidiaries or may be printed via the WACKER web site. During transportation and processing HDK

N20 may
cause electrostatic charges. Like other amorphous silicas HDK

N20 does not show either carcinogenic (IARC
classification, Volume 68, 1997) or mutagenic properties.
