Overview: The Director of Operations oversees the company’s day-to-day operations while projecting a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community. Complete focus on Distribution, Transportation, Warehousing, Logistics, Inventory and Leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs, develops, implements, and administers operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Directs the operations function in conjunction with business growth, including the introduction of new operational systems, meeting organizational financial expense objectives, and organizational leadership in distribution, transportation, inventory control, safety, pick/pack quality, and on-time delivery of our products or services.
  • Assists with the development of the organization’s policies, procedures, practices, and attainment of operating goals, while maintaining some management responsibility for budgeting, and expense disciplines.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural excellence, and leadership.
  • Leads the coordination and integration of all operational, transportation, service contracts, external freight cost, labor rates, new technology, and ensures complete customer satisfaction, providing a smooth workflow and more cost-effective warehousing and distribution processes.
  • Communicates and explains new initiatives, policy adjustments or procedures, executes and coordinates with departmental managers, for major changes. Regularly meets with the entire operations team to explain changes, answer questions, and build overall morale.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of department and/or distribution managers. Organizes and oversees the work schedules, hours of operations and functions of departmental managers.
  • Oversees distribution, purchasing, transportation, inventory control. Ensures each department has reached predetermined goals, guidelines, and objectives, set by departmental leaders and overall company leadership team/s.
  • Manages and evaluates performance of employees by setting goals, initiatives, conducting weekly meetings or check-ins, on-going performance evaluations throughout the year and provides timely and constructive job performance feedback within a open-door dialog.
  • Demonstrates leadership, encouragement, performance improvement and (if necessary), termination of employees, as needed or required in accordance with State and company guidelines.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors on-going budget performance vs budget plan, controls costs to achieve overall operational budget and financial objectives.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 10 years of on-going work experience in distribution, warehousing, a degree in business administration or related equivalency.
  • Extensive and diversified background in leadership in distribution, transportation, logistics or similar, or related experience.
  • Understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in product distribution or related business.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Superior leadership, managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior verbal & written communication, exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP or MRP software or related software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary or required.
  • Superior communication skills, strong motivational and leadership style and skills.
  • Syspro ERP software experience a big plus.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which includes; heat, humidity, cold, and wet. The employee is occasionally exposed to; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

In accordance with California’s labor code, the expected salary range for this position is between $106,000 and $140,000 annually. A new hire’s actual pay will be determined based on experience, skillset, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
