POSITION OVERVIEW: As our Human Resources Generalist, you will be the backbone of our employee experience and the guardian of our organizational health. You will have full ownership over the following critical areas, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner across the organization.

Classification – Exempt – Monday through Friday

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding – Own the full cycle of recruitment, from innovative sourcing strategies to engaging interviews and final selection, ensuring we attract and hire diverse, top-tier talent. Design and execute an onboarding experience that doesn’t just process paperwork but truly welcomes and integrates new hires, setting them up for immediate success and cultural alignment.

Compensation, Benefits, & Payroll – Conduct regular market analyses to ensure our compensation structure remains competitive and equitable. Process payroll accurately and on time, acting as the primary point of contact for employee compensation inquiries. Manage the administration of all employee benefits packages, ensuring seamless enrollment, education, and compliance.

Employee Relations & Culture Building – Be the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution, approaching every interaction with empathy, discretion, and fairness. Actively work to foster a positive and high-performing work environment, enforcing company policies consistently and fairly.

Compliance & Policy Development – Ensure 100% adherence to all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, staying ahead of changes to protect the organization. Take the lead in creating, updating, communicating, and administering internal policies that are clear, engaging, and support our culture.

Training, Development, & Performance – Design and implement impactful training and development programs (e.g., leadership training, compliance workshops) that support professional growth for all employees. Oversee the performance management cycle, guiding managers through employee reviews, goal setting, and providing coaching for effective disciplinary actions when necessary.

HR Administration & Record Keeping – Maintain impeccable, secure, and organized employee records (physical and digital), ensuring confidentiality and ease of audit. Identify opportunities to leverage HR technology to streamline administrative processes and enhance the employee self-service experience. Other duties as assigned, including projects related to the business.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining positive employee relationships.
  • Deep working knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset—you don’t wait for problems to come to you; you anticipate them.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn internal database and software systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening.

ADDITIONAL PREFFERED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Ability to adjust work schedule according to the business needs and travel to distribution centers and off-site efforts as required. (Less than 10%)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Lifting up to 20lbs. Constant bending, sitting, stooping, reaching, typing and other office related work. This role also works routinely in the store/warehouse area. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Pay

In accordance with California’s labor code, the expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 to $75,000 annually. A new hire’s actual pay will be determined based on experience, skillset, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
