STRETCH- VAC 2000
Vacuum bagging film
Ideally suited to aerospace applications
Features and Benefits
Soft, co-extruded, ultra high elongation, multi layered
film, produced from a modified polyamide resin.
Easily conformable for complex contoured parts,
formulated to be less affected by environmental
changes and remains flexible in low humidity
conditions.
Recommended as a bagging film for advanced
composite fabrication, when a dependable,
conformable, soft, stretchable bag is required.
Fewer pleats are needed when vacuum bagging
either complex or simple contoured parts, due to its
unique characteristics.
Manufactured using advanced state-of-the-art
blown film technology.
Can be heat seamed to meet any custom shape
requirements.

STORAGE
Stretch-Vac 2000 is hydrophilic material. Moisture and water act as plasticizers. The level of moisture content at time of use
is therefore an important factor for successful performance. The higher the moisture content the more flexible they become.
Conversely at lower moisture levels flexibility is limited.
Do not store rolls vertically on their ends

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Polyimide Film SDS: 0059730 Date Prepared: 02/06/2017
The acute oral (rat) and acute dermal (rabbit) LD50 values for N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAC) are 4300 mg/kg and 2240
mg/kg, respectively. The acute 1-hour (rat) inhalation LC50 value for this material is 2470 ppm (2.2 mg/L/4hr). DMAC is
moderately irritating to rabbit skin and eyes. Dosages of 65 mg/kg (oral), 250 mg/kg (dermal) and 100 ppm (inhalation)
have been reported as No Observed Effects Level (NOEL) in developmental toxicity studies. Higher doses by the same
routes of exposure have been reported to cause fetotoxicity, developmental and reproductive toxicity. In addition,
paternal defects in males (testes, epididymis) were also reported. Repeated and long term oral, dermal and inhalation
exposures to DMAC resulted in liver and kidney damage. No carcinogenic activity was demonstrated in rats given 1000
mg/kg/day of DMAC for two years in drinking water. This material was not mutagenic in bacterial and mammalian cell
cultures.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
The information on RCRA waste classification and disposal methodology provided below applies only to the product, as
supplied. If the material has been altered or contaminated, or it has exceeded its recommended shelf life, the guidance
may be inapplicable. Hazardous waste classification under federal regulations (40 CFR Part 261 et seq) is dependent
upon whether a material is a RCRA “listed hazardous waste” or has any of the four RCRA “hazardous waste
characteristics.” Refer to 40 CFR Part 261.33 to determine if a given material to be disposed of is a RCRA “listed
hazardous waste”; information contained in Section 15 of this MSDS is not intended to indicate if the product is a “listed
hazardous waste.” RCRA Hazardous Waste Characteristics: There are four characteristics defined in 40 CFR Section
261.21-61.24: Ignitability, Corrosivity, Reactivity, and Toxicity. To determine Ignitability, see Section 9 of this MSDS
(flash point). For Corrosivity, see Sections 9 and 14 (pH and DOT corrosivity). For Reactivity, see Section 10
(incompatible materials). For Toxicity, see Section 3 (composition). Federal regulations are subject to change. State and
local requirements, which may differ from or be more stringent than the federal regulations, may also apply to the
classification of the material if it is to be disposed. The Company encourages the recycle, recovery and reuse of
materials, where permitted, as an alternate to disposal as a waste. The Company recommends that organic materials
classified as RCRA hazardous wastes be disposed of by thermal treatment or incineration at EPA approved facilities.
The Company has provided the foregoing for information only; the person generating the waste is responsible for
determining the waste classification and disposal method.

Provide good ventilation and/or an exhaust system in the work area.
In case of development of vapors or dust (at processing): Use local exhaust.
See also information in chapter 7, section storage.
Personal protection equipment (PPE)
Eye/face protection:At processing (recommended): Safety glasses in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR:
1910.133 or ANSI Z87.1-2010.

maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapor/aerosol/particulates) that may arise
when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing
apparatus must be used.
General hygiene considerations:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands
before breaks and after work. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
At processing:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Do not breathe vapors. Do not breathe dust.

In case of inhalation:In case of inhalation of decomposition products, affected person should be moved into
fresh air and kept still. If the casualty has difficulty breathing, call a doctor immediately.
Following skin contact:After contact with molten product, cool skin area rapidly with cold water. Do not peel
solidified product off the skin. Seek medical attention.
After eye contact: In the event of irritation from processing vapors: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of
flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. In case of troubles or persistent
symptoms, consult an opthalmologist.
After swallowing: Not a probable route of exposure.
In the case of the formation of dust: Rinse mouth. Seek medical treatment in case of
troubles.
Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed
In case of inhalation:
Inhalation of dust may cause irritation of the respiratory system. Overheating released
mist or vapors can irritate the respiratory tracts.
Other symptoms: Cough, respiratory complaints, dizziness, nausea, vomiting.
After contact with skin: The melted product can cause severe burns.
After eye contact:
