Use Instructions
Duratec products are manufactured to be used as is, directly out of the can. The right step may
be
adjusting your spray equipment tip size, rather than reducing the material.
However there are times reducing is necessary. In those situations we advocate reducing as
little as possible, start
ing with one ounce per quart.
(1)Thoroughly mix the Duratec product you plan to use. Most Duratec products require a
thorough mix for the product to be consistent. A paint shaker or drill mixer is best.
(2)If the viscosity of the Duratec is too high for spraying, add one ounce of Duratec Reducer per
quart. Mix and evaluate the viscosity. Usually no more than three ounces of Duratec Reducer are
necessary per quart.
(3)Catalyze and spray the Duratec once the desired result viscosity is achieved. For specific catalyst
information, please consult the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) of the Duratec product you are using.
FYI: Duratec Reducer 39UCE was formerly known as Duratec Thinner 39LAC-3. If you have material
labeled as 39LAC-3 on hand it is likely the product is outdated. Please reach out to our team.

V.O.C. 786 grams/liter
Shelf Life 6 months

Film Characteristics:

Melting point 125 F

Application:

1. 39SURF103 and 39SURF102 Surfacing Agent is ready to use as received.
2. If there is a trace of haze or surfacing wax on the surfacing agent warm it with hot
water to about 80 F until the turbidity disappears.
3. Add 2 percent by weight surfacing agent to the resin or gel coat to be air cured and
thoroughly mix before using.
4. Catalyze the resin or gel coat as recommended by the manufacturer and apply as
desired.

WARNING:
Once the surfacing agent is added to a material, that material can not be top coated
