METYFIX 3 MULTI-PURPOSE SPRAY ADHESIVE
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Description
Metyfix 3, Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive is designed for the infusion mould market. This produ ct is a high
performan ce, solvent-based polymer adhesive in a pressured aerosol. Metyfix 3, Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive is
specially designed to hold reinforcing fibres in place during the infusion process of resin without affecting the surface
finish or structural integrity. It is compatible with
polyester, styrene, and vinyl ester resins. This adhesive has also been
successfully tested with epoxy resins using less than 9 grams of adhesive per sqm.
Suitable for use on a variety of substrates including.
Fiberglass
Foam
Balsa
Cork
Fabric
Cardboard
Paper
Other lightweight mate rials
Advantages
Used for Infusion/Vacuum Forming composites.
Safely fuses laminating materials to structural core surfaces.
Provides superior holding during forming process.
Allows resin to
obtain maximu m tensile shear streng th.
Repositionable, if used as a one-sided application.
Directions for use
SHAK E CAN WELL BEFORE USE Make sure that surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, oil, loose paint, wax, or
grease. Temperature of the adhesive and the surfaces being bonded should be between 60F – 80F. Use with
adequate ventilatio n. Spray approximate ly 8 12 away at a 90-degree angle lo the surface. If using a two-way
stick, spray both surfaces to be bonded, Allow the adhesive to tack off. Adhere surfaces and press together with
adequate pressure. After use, turn the can upside down press nozzle until spray is clear of adhesive this will prevent
the nozzle from blocking. If the nozzle has blocked the adhesive can be removed with a solvent such as lacquer
thinner o r acetone.
