EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
IMMEDIATE CONCERNS: The materials present in this product in their powdered forms include aquatic toxicity to the environment,
pyrophoric, flammability, self-heating capabilities, water reactivity, and acute toxicity. Inhalation of dusts and fumes can cause metal fume
fever. Symptoms can include a metallic or sweet taste in the mouth, sweating, shivering, headache, throat irritation, fever, chills, thirstiness,
muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, weakness, fatigue, and shortness of breath. Under normal use and handling of the solid form of this material
there are few health hazards. Cutting, welding, melting, grinding etc. of these materials will produce dust, fume or particulate containing the
component elements. Exposure to the dust, fume or particulate of these materials may present significant health hazards. Exposure to dust or
fume may cause irritation of the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Fine particulates dispersed in air may present an explosion hazard. Avoid
generating dust, generating sparks, ignition sources, and take necessary precautions.
3. COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS
Chemical Name Wt.% CAS
Aluminum 94.57429-90-5
Silicon 9.47440-21-3
Copper 1 7440-50-8
Zinc 1 7440-66-6
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
EYES: Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Get
medical advice/attention if irritation develops.
SKIN: Immediately wash skin with soap and plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical advice/attention if irritation or rash
develops. Wash clothing before reuse.
INGESTION: If swallowed, call a physician immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Provided the
patient is conscious, wash out mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. Seek medical advice/attention if breathing becomes difficult or if respiratory irritation develops.
NOTES TO PHYSICIAN: Symptomatic and supportive therapy as needed. Following severe exposure medical follow-up should be monitored
for at least 48 hours.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
GENERAL HAZARD: This product does not present fire or explosion hazards as shipped. Fine turnings, fine dust from processing may be
readily ignitible. Flammable solid. May form combustible dust concentrations in air.
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Dry earth, sand, or Class D media ONLY. Do not use water or foam. Do not use halogenated extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION HAZARDS: This product does not present fire or explosion hazards as shipped. Avoid generation of dust; fine dust dispersed in air
in sufficient concentration, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazards.
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: Firefighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and consider use of
unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles for fighting large fires.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SPILL AND LEAK PROCEDURES: Recover mechanically the product. No special precautions for large product fragments. For dust cleanup
use protective equipment. Pick up and transfer to properly labeled containers. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly. Avoid dispersal of dust in
the air (i.e. cleaning dust surfaces with compressed air). In case of formation of dust during processing, non-sparking tools should be used.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
WATER SPILL: Do not discharge into drains, surface waters, or groundwater.
GENERAL PROCEDURES: Refer to section 8 of SDS for personal protection details.
COMMENTS: Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site. Clean up spilled material and place in dry containers.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
GENERAL PROCEDURES: Keep away from sources of ignition – No smoking. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep
material dry.
HANDLING: Use appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Handle in a well-ventilated area. Handle and use in a
manner consistent with good industrial/manufacturing techniques and practices.
STORAGE: Store in a dry area.
ELECTROSTATIC ACCUMULATION HAZARD: Dry powders can build static electricity charges when subjected to the friction of transfer
and mixture operations. Provide adequate precautions, such as electrical grounding and bonding or inert atmospheres.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels below
recommended exposure limits.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
EYES AND FACE: Safety goggles or glasses are recommended. Plastic face shields should be used for complete face protection to protect
against possible splashing or spraying of material. ANSI Z87.1 or approved equivalent.
SKIN: Chemical-resistant gloves and chemical goggles, face-shield, and synthetic apron or coveralls should be used to prevent contact with
eyes, skin, or clothing. Wear nitrile or neoprene gloves. Chemical resistant gloves lined with polyethylene offer maximum protection.
RESPIRATORY: Exhaust ventilation recommended. An organic vapor cartridge or fresh air supplied respirator (NIOSH approved) may be
necessary for certain applications. Consider the type of application, environmental concentrations, and other materials being used concurrently
when determining respirator use and selection. Observe OSHA regulations for respirator use (29 CFR 1910.134).
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING: Protective clothing should be selected and used in accordance with “Guidelines for the Selection of Chemical
Protective Clothing” published by ACGIH.
