TR-905
MOLD PREP CLEANER
SOLVENT

DESCRIPTION:
A proprietary solvent mixture to remove wax, oils and other surface contaminants from reinforced polyester tooling and
other hard surface molds

PRODUCT FEATURES:
Fast evaporation with excellent cleaning ability
Removes compound residue after polishing
Effective on polyester, epoxy and metal tooling
Does not reduce gloss on mold surface
Promotes bonding of sealer/release to mold
Aids in moisture removal after water cleaning

USES:
Recommended for preparation and cleaning of mold surface prior to application of TR-900 Series MULT-PULL Semi-
Permanent Releases or the TR-910 Sealer.

APPLICATION:
Apply TR-905 solvent to mold surface using a clean all cotton (no synthetic blends) cloth working an area sufficient to
stay wet dissolving previously used wax or similar releases. While still wet or dissolved in mold cleaner, wipe dry with
another clean dry cloth, turning and changing cloth frequently to facilitate pick-up. Repeat as necessary until mold is
thoroughly cleaned and dry. Some molds may require use of a light buffing compound for previously used releases or
sealers. The mold prep cleaner should be used after water washing to remove buffing compound residue remaining on
the mold surface. The mold surface should always be wiped dry prior to use of the TR-900 series releases or TR-910
mold sealer.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Solvent Carrier: Blended aromatic/ ketone solvent
Specific Gravity: 0.83
Wt./Gal: 6.91lbs./gal
Flash Point: 34 F (0.8 C)
Evaporation Rate: >1 (butyl acetate = 1)

STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS:
TR-905 mold prep cleaner contains flammable solvents. Keep aw ay from spark, open flame or other sources of
ignition. Close container after use and keep stored in cool area. Avoid prolonged exposure to breathing and contact
with skin. Use only with adequate ventilation. Use respirators or fresh air masks in confined areas.

PACKAGING:
Available in gallon 4×1/cases, 5 gallon pail and 55 gallon drum. Please contact your local TR distributor or call direct.

TR-900
MULTI-PULL
LIQUID SEMI-PERMANENT RELEASE
DESCRIPTION:
TR-900 is a high temp semi-permanent release coating which dries rapidly under atmospheric conditions, bonding an
ultra thin clear release film to the mold surface. Exceptional multiple releases per application for various polyester
molding processes and other resin fiberglass fabrication.
PRODUCT FEATURES:
Excellent hi-temp properties (Thermally Stable 750 F )(400 C)
Multiple release per application
Rapid cure time speeds production cycle
No pre-release or transfer
Wipes to high gloss finish
Easily recoats without build-up
SUGGESTED USES: An ef fective multiple release agent for the FRP and related molders
Open mold hand or spray lay-up
Compression molding
Injection molded parts
Vacuum bag
Resin transfer molding (RTM)
APPLICATION: Always use and apply with a clean, lint-free 100% cotton white cloth (no synthetic blends). Clean
mold surface thoroughly of all previous release agents and sealers using the TR-905 mold prep solvent. Surface
should be completely dry and free of any contaminates. Apply TR-900 by wiping a thin wet coat onto a small area
(approx. 3 x 3 ft.) of the mold surface starting at an end point of the mold. (Do not apply heavily or excessively
wet). While the release film is still wet, wipe gently with another clean dry cotton cloth, turning and changing
cloths as required for proper drying. Avoid excessive hard rubbing or wiping of the treated surface which ensures a
more uniform and effective film deposit. Apply each application overlapping the previous small area until the entire
mold surface is complete. Repeat this for 3-4 coats to the entire mold surface allowing minimum 15 minutes
between coats and 30 minutes after final coat. Maximum results obtained if mold is allowed to stand overnight
before first use. A touch-up coat is recommended for the first 2-3 initial releases to maximize mold conditioning
and durability. When spraying, use a dry air source or airless spray, applying in a thin continuous smooth film,
avoiding excess flooding or runs. Wipe with a clean dry cotton cloth as noted in wipe application.
NOTE: Recommend use of TR-910 SEALER on new or green or repaired molds, more porous or rough mold
surfaces for maximum performance of the TR-900 RELEASE.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Solvent Carrier: Blend of aliphatic and aromatic naphtha solvent
Specific Gravity: 0.87
Wt./Gal.: 7.25 lbs./Gal.
Coverage: Approx. 1200 Sq. Ft./Gal.
Cure Time: Approx. 15 min. at Room Temp. (75 F) between coats and 30min after final coat
Appearance: Clear thin liquid with characteristic odor.
Cure Method: Chemical reaction with atmospheric moistur e following solvent evaporation

STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS:
TR-900 contains flammable solvents. Keep away from spark, open flame or other sources of ignition. Store in a cool
dry place and keep in original unopened container. Product will react with atmospheric moisture and container should
be kept tightly closed when not in use. Avoid creating static discharge, do not use microfiber cloth.

TR-309
REGULAR COMPOUND
MEDIUM CUTTING PASTE

DESCRIPTION:
TR-309 is a medium coarse off-white paste compound developed specifically for light oxidation and sanding scratch
removal on polyester gel-coats.

PRODUCT FEATURES:
Fast cutting action for quick effective removal light sanding marks
Good initial gloss achieved on finished parts when sanding for minor defect repair
Remains moist while buffing with less spotting and drying
Restores gloss to lightly oxidized & weathered finishes
Contains no silicones or waxes
Economically priced

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Specific Gravity: 1.23 (10.25lbs./Gal)
Viscosity: soft paste water/petroleum emulsion blend
Color: off-white

USES:
To provide good initial uniform gloss while removing sanding scratches (600g-800g), light oxidation and minor
surface imperfections on all gel coated finishes.

APPLICATION:
Apply TR-309 to gel-coated surface and spread evenly. Using a high speed electric variable speed buffer equipped
with all wool twisted buffing pad set buffer speed to 2,400 RPM for best results. Work in a 2 x 2 overlapping
surface area using medium pressure to keep surface moist to avoid drying out and burnishing. As polish begins to
dry gradually reduce buffing pressure to achieve a smooth uniform gloss appearance. Use a buffing spur to clean
pad frequently during use to remove excess compound build up.

NOTE:
For optimum results polish with TR-308 Fine Finish II to achieve a high gloss mirror like swirl free finish after using
TR-309 regular compound.

PACKAGING:
TR-309 is available in Gallon 4×1 case, 5gal pail or 55gal drum. Recommended to store in a cool dry place to
maintain one year shelf life stability.

FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY

The information contained herein is based on tests considered to be reliable and accurate. Because of the wide variance of associated materials
