Stabond MR3
Technical Data Sheet
DESCRIPTION
Stabond Mold Release #3 has been developed to facilitate the removal of polyurethane parts from a mold.
PROPERTIES
TYPE: WAX SHELF LIFE: 12 MONTHS
COLOR: WHITE THINNER: STABOND T-THINNER
SOLIDS: 10% VISCOSITY: VERY THIN SYRUP
COVERAGE: 300 SQ. FT. /GALLON FLASH POINT: < 0 F
WT/GAL: 6.09 lbs
APPLICATION
The mold should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Preheat the mold to 120 F. Either brush or spray the mold release to the warm,
dry surface. Then warm the mold and drive off the solvent by blowing air over the surface. The mold is now ready for use. Porous molds
e.g. Plaster of Paris, are not recommended, but if used, must first be sealed with lacquer or similar coating.
STORAGE
For maximum shelf life, store material in cool dry area and keep container tightly sealed. Storage temperature of 60 -80 F. is
recommended. Lower storage temperature will cause a temporary increase in viscosity. Rotate stock on a First in First out basis. For
optimum results agitate adhesive prior to use.
DANGER
Extremely flammable. Toxic. Vapors may ignite explosively. Provide fresh air cross ventilation to prevent build-up of vapors. Keep away
from heat, sparks and from open flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off all non-explosion proof
electrical equipment and sources of ignition during use and until vapors are dissipated. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of
vapors. Close container after use. Contains aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Harmful or fatal
if swallowed. If swallowed do not induce vomiting, seek immediate medical attention. THOROUGHLY READ THE SDS FOR THIS
PRODUCT PRIOR TO USING IT.
IMPORTANT
Suggestions for the use of this product are based on tests believed to be reliable; however, the user should determine suitability for
the intended use by his own evaluation. Because the use of the material is beyond our control, neither the seller nor the manufacturer
shall be liable for any injury, loss, or damage, direct or consequential, arising out of the use or inability to use this product. Seller and
manufacturer s sole obligation shall be replacement of material proved to be defective.

Chemlease
MPP2180 Sealer
Mold Prep and Primer
Chemlease
MPP2180 is formulated for sealing tooling in
both the FRP and advanced composites sectors.
Appropriate substrates include polyester gelcoat and non-
gelcoat, epoxy and phenolic mold surfaces, and most metals.
Chemlease
MPP2180 is not recommended for sealing
monolithic graphite or ceramic tooling.
General
Chemlease
MPP2180 should be applied onto a clean mold
surface. Chemlease
MPP2180 is an excellent sealing
material, but should not be used as a mold release agent.
Use of this product without a release agent may result in
severe damage to the mold. It has the ability to enhance the
performance of semi-permanent release agents. In many
cases, it has also been used as a means of re-surfacing a
worn-out mold. The appropriate Chemlease
releasant
should be applied on top of the product after it has been
cured. For sealing purposes, a wipe on/wipe off application
technique is used. To resurface a mold, use of a wipe
on/leave on technique is typical.
Mold Preparation
1.After the mold has been buffed and polished wi
th
rubbing and polishing compounds, wash t
he mold
surface thoroughly with clean water. The proper
water
wash will remove all fillers and wate
r-soluble
contaminants from the buffing an
d polishing
compounds. Use liberal amounts of water. Wipe dry
with clean cotton
cloths.
2.
Following the water wash, apply Chemlease
Mold
Cleaner to remove
all traces of solvent-soluble
contaminants such as waxes, silicones, oils, etc.
Use
liberal quantities of Mold Cleaner in a we
ll-ventilated
area, then wipe dry with clean cott
on cloths until the
mold is squeaky clean by thumb or hand rub test.
3.The wiping cloth should be changed regularly to e
nsure
that a clean, absorbent surface of the wi
ping cloth is
always presented to the mold surface. This proce
dure
prevents recontamination of the mold by wi
ping cloths
which carry cont
aminants lifted from the mold.
Application Instructions Wipe On/Leave On
1. Apply Chemlease
MPP2180 by wiping. Use clean, soft
cotton cloths. A wipe on/leave on
technique can be
used, even for Class A finish molds, applying to an
area of about four square feet at a time. Care shou
ld be
taken on large structures to ensure that the overla
p area
is as small as possible and that the product on the
area
overlapped has not already cured. Generally, 1 or
2
coats are sufficient to seal. Allow 30 minutes bet
ween
each coat. After the final coat, allow a 1-2 hour cu
re at
room temperature. The cure time can be reduced
to 20
minutes by warming mold to 120-140 F/49-60 C.
Note:
a prismatic sheen may develop on the mold surfac
e
using this method. This sheen does not imprint ont
o the
molded part in mo
st situations.
2.
When the product has cured, apply the appropriate
Chemlease
mold release. Please refer to the proper
Product Data Sheet for mold re
lease application details
and instructions.
Application Instructions Wipe On/ Wipe Off
Follow instructions for Wipe On/Leave On. However, after
material is wiped on, wipe off immediately using a clean, dry,
soft cotton cloth being careful to wipe off evenly. Change
cloths frequently for best results. Once material has begun to
dry and cure, it will not be possible to wipe off without
causing blemishes and streaks so it is important to wipe the
sealer off immediately after it has been wiped on and is still
wet. Generally, 1 or 2 wipe on/wipe off coats are sufficient to
seal.
Touch-Up Coats
Touch-up coats are not possible once this product is applied
and cured since a release agent must be applied over the top
of it before the mold can be used in production.
Cure Test
Under the best conditions, Chemlease
MPP2180 has been
found to cure in as little as one hour. A simple test method
for complete cure is: Apply one drop each of water and
Chemlease
Mold Cleaner onto a flange area that has been
coated with the product. Wait a few seconds then wipe off
with a clean cloth. If there is no evidence of the drops on the
tool surface, the product is completely cured.
Important
The recommended number of coats and cure times are a
general guideline found to be sufficient in a broad spectrum
of molding conditions. When molding products with extreme
geometries or experiencing low-humidity conditions in the
shop, the customer may find it necessary to extend the cure
time between coats and increase the number of coats applied
to the mold. The efficiency of a release film is best
determined through a combination of tape tests and
experimentation.
Storage
The container should be kept closed at all times when not in
use to prevent contamination, evaporation and/or premature
curing. Do not store at temperatures above 100 F/38 C.
Chemlease
MPP2180 is flammable. Keep away from heat,
sparks, flames and combustion sources during storage and
use. If stored in cold temperatures, allow to warm to room
temperature before using.
Packaging
Chemlease
MPP2180 is available in 1-quart (1-liter), 1-
gallon (4-liter), 5-gallon (20-liter) and 55-gallon (208-liter)
containers.
Safety Data
Material Safety Data Sheets are available for all
Chemlease
products and should be consulted prior to use
of the product.
While the technical information and suggestions for use contained
herein are believed to be accurate and reliable, nothing stated in this
bulletin is to be taken as a warranty either expressed or implied.

1000P
Hi Low Paste Wax
Premium Mold Release Wax
Description
Finish Kare’s 1000P Hi Low Paste Wax is one of
our very popular product . It is part of the 1000 Mold Release
Wax Series, each formulated with a unique blend of synthetic
waxes and solvents to get specifically desired results.
1000P does exceptionally well in high exothermic conditions
and provides easy multiple releases.
Features & Benefits
High Temp Tolerance
Withstands high temperature exothermic reactions
of resins and does multiple releases easily.
Good for up to 275 F or 135 C.
Unique Wax Makeup
Contains carnauba wax, synthetic waxes and high
temperature resistant resins for effective multiple
releases of composite parts.
High Gloss Finish
Buffing out the final coat will result in a high gloss
finish
The hard, shiny film protects the molds from
intensive wear and heat and creates smoother,
shinier parts
Clean & Seal
Prior to any mold release wax application, we highly
recommend all molds be cleaned and sealed using our #69
Mold Cleaner and Stripper or #135 80 for a deeper clean and
our #86 Seal Kote to seal up any porosity.
Application Process
Step 1: Apply # 1000P, Hi Low Mold Release Wax in Five (5)
separate applications. Make sure that each coat is dry prior to
wiping. Please criss cross each application for assuring the
complete coverage. Apply wax in a circular motion to work the
wax in.
Step 2: Allow 30 minutes to set after the final wipe. Then re
wipe, pour the first part and release it.
Step 3: After releasing the part gently wipe the mold, then
apply one more coat of wax and release one more part.
AT THIS POINT, MOLD IS CURED TO THE POINT THAT
MULTIPLE RELEASES ARE POSSIBLE.
***Additional Release Tricks***
When a part gets a little hard to pull, apply one coat of
#1000L, Hi Low Liquid Wax, let it dry and wipe lightly. Run
more parts and apply # 1000L as needed. Use of # 1000L helps
in preventing wax buildup and thus helps in multiple releases.
