Candidates must be able to collect, analyze, and utilize stocking parameters and sales data to negotiate prices and place purchase orders to fulfill material requirements. This position requires an individual who can multi-task, effectively completes time-sensitive tasks; works well in both team and individual environments, has can do attitude and can bring a positive, energetic attitude to the department daily.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set-up and maintain MRP settings
  • Review MRP by supplier to determine purchase needs
  • Enter Purchase Orders for assigned accounts and back-up as required
  • Backorder review and follow-up with suppliers and the SSR team
  • Ensure material is ordered and transferred on time and in the correct quantities to fulfill customer orders and replenish stock
  • Develop strong supplier relationships to attain the best price, terms, and delivery of material.
  • Maintains an accurate item master (lead-time, cost, description, unit of measure, etc.)
  • Maintains Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets in Syspro
  • Send Certs to customers for Drop Ship deliveries
  • Maintain all customer and supplier contract price in Syspro
  • Maintain price support spreadsheet
  • Troubleshoot price support issues


  • Minimum 4 years purchasing/logistics experience within a distribution/wholesale environment using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Experience with Syspro a plus
  • Strong Excel skills to support MRP driven system.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of supply chain metrics (EOQ, ROI, turns calculations, etc.)
  • Have experience in handling purchasing and distribution for multiple locations.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong Material Requirements Planning (MRP) inventory control experience.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports or other business intelligence (report writing) applications a plus.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Lifting up to 20lbs. Constant bending, sitting, stooping, reaching, typing and other office related work.

Time and Attendance

This position requires punctuality and consistent attendance.


In accordance with California’s labor code, the expected salary/hourly range for this position is between $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. A new hire’s actual pay will be determined based on experience, skillset, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
